George Edward Kessler & the Indianapolis Park System: Cultural Landscape Report

James O’Day, ASLA wrote and developed the cultural landscape report on George Edward Kessler and the history of the Indianapolis park system. The original research served as the basis for the Indianapolis Park and Boulevard System’s nomination and listing in the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Brendanwood: Cultural Landscape Report

James O’Day, ASLA wrote and developed the cultural landscape report on Brendanwood, an early 20th century garden suburb in Indianapolis, Indiana. The original research served as a basis for this planned community’s nomination and historic district listing in the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Italian Garden at Queset: Cultural Landscape Report

James O’Day, ASLA wrote and developed the cultural landscape report on Queset, an historic-designed landscape (circa 1911) in North Easton, Massachusetts. The ongoing preservation project will provide background information for National Register nomination and grant funding.

Meridian House Garden: Cultural Landscape Report

James O’Day, ASLA wrote and developed the cultural landscape report on the gardens at Meridian House in Washington, DC. The mansion and grounds were designed by John Russell Pope in 1916 with attributions to landscape architect Charles Platt. The research will provide background information for future planning project including restoration and stewardship programs.
